JOB TITLE: Marketing & Sales Coordinator EMPLOYMENT CLASSIFICATION: Part-time hourly non-exempt (Pay Group “D”) $13/hour (20-25 hours per week) DEPARTMENT: Marketing/Communications SUPERVISOR: Associate Director of Sales & Marketing SCHEDULE:
Primarily Monday through Friday. Hours will be determined during 1st week of employment and are subject to change based on the needs of the dept. Occasional weekday evening or weekend hours will be required for specific projects as directed by the Associate Director of Sales & Marketing.
STATEMENT OF JOB: Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Sales & Marketing, the Marketing & Sales Coordinator will be assisting the Marketing & Communications department with their overall department needs. The main responsibilities include, but are not limited to: make sales calls, manage seatfilling opportunities; execute successful grassroots marketing efforts; and act as project manager for various Playhouse events. The Marketing & Sales Coordinator will also be responsible for building new relationships within the community and promoting ticket sales to existing and new contacts. Essential Responsibilities: • Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Sales & Marketing, the Marketing & Sales Coordinator will make outbound phone calls and create emails to San Diego organizations to offer subscription, single and group sales opportunities. • The Marketing Coordinator will be trained in Tessitura to do research, pull lists and call existing customers to return to purchase future shows. • Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Sales & Marketing, the Marketing & Sales Coordinator will oversee grass-roots / community marketing efforts for all productions by initiating contact with target community groups, arts organizations, and local businesses to promote productions. • Creating cross-promotions including mailing list exchanges, special offers, program inserts, etc. • Creating all department online forms – opening night, sign up lists, papering, including staff paper sign-ups and patron surveys. • Assisting Associate Director of Sales & Marketing in developing & implementing marketing strategies for San Diego Universities & Colleges including UCSD, SDSU, USD, Point Loma Nazarene, and others. Includes calendar listings on websites, postering on campuses, collateral placement, contacting professors for group sales, etc. • Assisting with Concierge Club program at local hotels • Issuing and tracking of all guest vouchers for marketing promotions. • Maintaining advertising and public relation archives: label, date and store tear sheets from clippings and advertising. • Code invoices and support all budgeting needs. • Support most evening and weekend events

Marketing and Sales experience preferred. Work or Internship experience in entertainment, restaurant, marketing, promotions, or public relations a plus Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills Attention to detail for layout and proofreading of digital and printed materials Fast learner – able to learn new programs and skills with ease Strong ability to think ahead, follow – up, and multi-task like a pro Excellent creative and analytical skills Excellent ability to finish tasks in a timely manner, and ability to be self-productive at all points of the day Great customer service and phone demeanor Experienced with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and other office programs Advanced knowledge with online community websites and social networking sites Team player
